OPPY Club Marks 23 Years of Creating Happiness for the Digital Age Elderly
OPPY Club (O-P-P-Y: Old People Playing Young) is celebrating its 23rd anniversary as a gathering place for seniors to live happily. As part of the celebration, the club is adding new courses and activities to support the elderly's digital lifestyle.
Ms. Suteera Chamlongsuphaluck, or Kru Jeab, the principal of the OPPY Club, stated that the club was founded on January 25th, 23 years ago. Throughout 23 years, the OPPY Club has adapted to the changing technology trends by expanding its curriculum to meet the needs of the elderly. The club has expanded its curriculum to include digital photography, nature surfing, and teaching the use of tablets and smartphones.
In 2023, the OPPY Club is undergoing a facelift and expanding its space to be more conducive for the elderly. The new activities will balance the technology with non-IT activities including travel photography, painting, and singing.
According to Teacher Jeab, "The OPPY Club keeps pace with the changing technology trends, in line with the behavior of the high-tech-hearted seniors in this era. Our goal is to provide technical knowledge to the elderly and organize activities to create happiness and balance in the digital age, improving the quality of life for our members."
